how it feels to go to the library without a specific book in mind and to leave with a stack of books you’re excited about in your arms just like you did as a little kid
Okay, hold up, I promise y'all these books still exist and are still being made, you just don’t see them anymore because you don’t go into the kid’s section of the library. DK in particular publishes plenty of books for children and adults about culture worldwide. You may not find this exact book, but you will find plenty of children’s books, fiction and nonfiction, that tackle diversity worldwide.
do u ever start typing out a long opinion post and feel very heated and then halfway through realize nothing matters and time is a flat circle and whatever i’m tired
Louis and Steve reflect on the perception of Liam online vs. who they knew him to be in reality, DoaC.
SB: He was wildly misunderstood.
LT: Big time. Big time, man. Big time.
SB: And often times people maliciously misunderstood him, which was hard, you know. It’s hard. I don’t know if I have the right words for this, but if you knew Liam Payne and then you went on the internet and saw the way that he was described when, you know, certain moments in the press, and there was an interview he did in LA and things like that, you could only feel awful that he was so poorly misunderstood because he was often painted as being arrogant or whatever, but the reality of Liam is like the opposite of whatever the word arrogant is. Pure is the word.
LT: Really, yeah, really nice way of describing him like that. Had, and I don’t mean this in a remotely rude way or derogatory way, he had a bit of puppy dog energy about him. You know, when you say pure, that’s what it makes me feel like. He’s just the kind of guy that you might, you know, get a bit of banter on and it’s come across a bit cutting, and you see him and you go “ugh I’m a fucking arsehole.” Just really wanted to be liked. Now we all do, obviously, like that’s in all of us, but I think for Liam it was vitally important. But also he missed out on some of the social life ‘cause from 14-16 he was actually working at that point, like he was still at school and stuff, but his brain and his dreams and probably every night that he went to sleep he was thinking about how is he going to achieve what it is that he wants to achieve, so he definitely had a very different journey to all of us.
